Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd say hi to everyone out there!
We're still working on the final form for the website, but we're excited about what God is doing in our discussion groups and through our activities in the community.
Last week we had a really good get-together where we packed a bunch of bags to give away to the homeless. I'm sure you've all had the experience of driving up to an Austin traffic intersection and seeing a person with a sign asking for help. There's a scramble to see if you have anything available (usually not) and then a feeling of being at a loss to do anything meaningful. Well, some folks in Austin started a ministry called Bags of Grace to address this dilemma. We assembled our own Gifts of Hope, bags filled with water, food, emergency info, a notebook and pen, and a little note explaining God's good news to them.
We really hope that these bags will be a blessing to folks we encounter on the corners in the future.
Sometimes all it takes to begin loving another person is a simple step of faith.
